Sonia is a graduate of Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She did her graduate work at the University of Georgia and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Presently she has a private practice.

In addition, Sonia has been the President of the Licensed Professional Counseling Association and very active in the promotion and maintenance of her profession.
